Efrain Bleiberg, MD is Professor and Vice Chair at The Menninger Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences, Director, Division of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, Baylor College of Medicine and Chief, Psychiatry Service, Texas Children’s Hospital.
A native of Mexico, Dr. Bleiberg graduated from the medical School of the autonomous University of Nuevo Leon and from the School of Psychology of the University of Nuevo Leon. He completed his psychiatry and Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Residencies at The Menninger School of Psychiatry and Mental Health Sciences in Topeka Kansas, He is a graduate in Adult and Child Psychoanalysis from the Topeka Institute of Psychoanalysis. He has published extensively in the areas of personality disorders, attachment and trauma and treatment of adolescents. Among his publications is Treating Personality Disorders in Children and Adolescents (2001) Guilford press.
